Steel-Ply Formwork is the most widely accepted, pre-engineered, modular formwork system in use today. It can be reused 200 times after timely replacement of plywood, and is compatible with all other industry standard formwork forming systems.It is designed for maximum versatility and can be used to form virtually any concrete structure. Steel-Ply specialty forms are used for Bulkhead Forming, Haunch Forming, Pilaster, Adjustable Pilaster Forms, and Culvert Forms.
The main components working together with the formwork panels include the Wedge Bolt, X-Flat Tie, One Piece Waler Clamp, Z Tie Holders and Turnbuckles.
Wedge bolts connect panels and ties together, eliminating the need for special tools or equipment in the set up process. Two identical wedge bolts work as a single lock-bolt set, connecting and clamping together. However, additional bolts may be needed for walker attachments, scaffold brackets, etc.
Long Bolt, similar to a wedge bolt, these long bolts connect the 1, 1 ½, and 2-inch steel fillers, and are punched with two ¼ inch holes to make room for 16, or 20, D nails.
Short Bolts are used to attach the pilaster form to a steel ply form. They eliminate the need for short stop wedge bolts and, upon proper installation, make stripping much easier.
X Flat Ties are used with Wedge Bolts to secure and space modular forms. X Flat ties are available in 6″ up to 84″ in 1/2″ increments. Standard breakback is 1/4″.
One Piece Waler Clamps attach through the wedge bolt slot of modular type forms to provide wedge action aligning with single or double lumber.
Z Tie Holders are used in conjunction with Waler Ties to secure double 2x lumber wales to modular type forms. The Waler Tie is available in two sizes to accommodate 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 lumber.
